This one is in the running for my favorite of all time. |

 | The Natural | Bernard Malamud | 2 | 6/1/1999 | A near complete dissapointment. Begins exactly the same as the movie (word for word). It finally differs drasticly near the end, but not for the better - not by a long shot. |
 | The First Horseman | JOHN CASE, CAROLYN HOUGAN, JIM HOUGAN | 4 | 6/1/1999 | Not as good as the Genesis Code, but good. A scientific exploration to Norway to exhume victims of the 1917 flu pandemic exposes a terrible secret, which a reporter invited to go along attempts to unravel. |

A woman, alone in the world for the first time, strives to survive. Set durring the Civil war, in the South. This one lived up the hype, as far as I'm concerned. |
 | Foundation and Chaos | Greg Bear | 5 | 5/1/1999 | The second book of the second foundation trilogy. An Excellent book. A robot close to R. Daneel Olivaw suffers an accident which removes the constraint of the three laws, and leads him to challenge the plans of R. Daneel and Hari Seldon. |

 | Destiny's Road | Larry Niven | 5 | 4/1/1999 | An excellent story of a boy who finds out the secrets that lie down planet destiny’s road. The road, created by early settlers as they take the founding cities machines with them, runs between two vastly different cities which are separated by more that just the road. |
 | On the Beach | NEVIL SHUTE | 5 | 3/1/1999 | The last world war is two years in the past. A story of how a group of people decide to live thier lives, knowing when die, and knowing it will be soon. This one stuck with me for a while. |

 | Timequake | Kurt Vonnegut | 4 | 11/1/1998 | Not quite sure I can explain it. Reads like part fiction, part auto-biography. Humorous at times, thought provoking in others. |
 | Truth Machine | James L. Halperin | 5 | 11/1/1998 | The story of two people: David West and Randal (Pete) Armstrong, who change the course of human history by conceiving and producing an invention that forces people to tell the truth. Great characters. |
