From Karen: Aunt Esther was a nurse She and Uncle Jim met when he was on a troop train and sick with malaria WWII. He got worse when the train stopped in Altoona and he had to be admitted to Altoona Hospital where Aunt Esther worked. She was engaged to someone else and apparently broke that off and got married to Uncle Jim soon after they met. I think they eloped but I am not sure about that part.The moved right away to Michigan where Uncle Jim was from. I remember hearing the story and according to Aunt Jennie Mae and my dad, my grandparents were not pleased!!! :-)@S78@
