| Mathias Haines was born in Greenland about 1680. He was called a "Housewright" and owned a ship called the Brigantine. Mathias had many "acres of marshland, fruit trees, orchard and gardens." He married Hannah Johnson, granddaughter of Philip Lewis of Greenland. They had eight children. |
