When Ebenezer was about 15 years old, he moved to the Plantation Penacook in New Hampshire with his family. He farmed with his father. He served in company of men under the command of Capt. John Geoffe scouting the woods in 1745. He and his brother, Joseph was called into the Militia by Governor Wentworth of New Hampshire after the Indian attack on the "Great Meadowaaaa' at Westmoreland in Cheshire County along the Connecticut River Valley.
