• Cats and dogs living together

One of Cheryl’s devout Jewish friends got us pork sausage for Christmas. I love sausage, I think food makes a great gift, I’ve never been one to turn down pork, and I’m not going to start now.

I don’t want to seem ungratefull, because I’m not; however, there was no way this was going to get past my overdeveloped sense of irony.

  • Raison d’etre

We were sitting at the dinner table and Adam picked up his sippy cup and threw it on the floor.

“Adam, why did you do that?” Cheryl asked.

“Cheryl, there is no why… only do. Do… or do not, there is no why.”

  • Football imitating life

Sometimes you win, sometimes you loose, and sometimes you do both at the same time. Take yesterday afternoon… the Patriots absolutely destroyed the Bucs. As a fan of both formerly hapless franchises, this was a terrible game to watch… and a great game to watch.

More and more, I find that this sort of thing is the rule in my life. Have a healthy child… and worry about him conking himself senseless on the tile. Watch him conk himself half senseless on the tile, and see him bounce back with a great big grin… as if nothing had happened.

I wonder if there’s any research on correlations between watching sports and life expectancy?
