Everything is back to normal.

Today the decorations came down. Lights were coiled up. Knick-knacks were packed away. The tree went back in it’s box. Our living room furniture returned to it’s previous configuration. I love the holidays and the now three month lead in to them, but I’m o.k. that they’re over. When I was younger the end of the holidays preceded a one week minimum mourning period. Now the end of the holidays bring the end to another week, a special week, but in the end – another week. Does this mean I’m more mature, that Christmas is just more fun for kids? In either case, I am cautiously optimistic about this next year. This is in marked contrast to a couple of days ago. What can I say? A couple of good days will do that for you.
