There’s no real point to this one, other than to speed up the time it takes for the movie post to disappear (I think only the last ten posts appear on the front page).
I think I mentioned last week that it was finally fall in Florida. Well guess what? It’s only been a week and signs of spring are here! I do really love fall, when we finally get a reprieve from the heat of summer, but…
Beth has been hounding me for a new movie for months. Me and Adam sat in front of the iMac for a while the other day and pieced this one together real quick. I’m hesitant to post it, seeing as how I come across as a complete fool (which is my nature), but so far it’s a hit at our house with the kids, and looking like a fool has never stopped me from posting my every thought here…
Have you ever had a toilet seat break under you? I don’t mean a broken hinge or a couple screws coming loose, I mean the thick part of the seat cracking through – making two pieces where once there was one. It never happened to me before either… until this week. (Assuming of course, it hasn’t happened to you.)
It led to Cheryl’s briefing on Wednesday…
Before I begin, I warn you that the standard disclaimer applies: it’s quite possible I don’t know what I’m talking about.
Wheh! Now that I’m free of that burden (responsibility) I’m ready to rock and roll.
It seems those pesky Democrats are up to no good again, making noise about ending tax breaks to oil companies in order to raise money for… get this……
No, this is not a post about nudity (though I’m bound to get a few disappointed googlers after this first sentence).
No, this post touches on my recent efforts to eat and dress better. In addition to trying freshen up our diet with more organically grown veggies, I’ve done a little searching for low impact clothing. A co-worker suggested organic cotton and bamboo.
Bamboo? Are we…
Nothing new here today. I’m going to self examine again.
There’s a guy I work with that I disagree with all the time. We talk politics, sports… all kinds of stuff that normal people discuss, and argue.
The thing is, talking to him is safe. We’re friends, and I know that whatever I say we’ll still be friends. I can toss out irreverent cracks and he can return service…
Just so you know, I’m kind of grumpy today.
Imagine this exchange (fill in the variables with whatever relatively simple task suits you):
“Excuse me, could you tell me how to do X? It doesn’t come up often here, and I don’t know how.”
“I don’t see how it’s my problem. And by the way, what you’ve got is clearly Z.”
“I’m sorry…
There’s been a bit of severe weather talk this afternoon. We even got an email at work suggesting we keep our NOAA weather alert radios on through the night.
In a way it almost feels like hurricane season (though we didn’t have to bag the computers at the office before we left). I suppose it’s better to be safe than sorry, but it seems like our weather people cry wolf a little…
NYT:
President Bush rebuffed appeals from the nation’s governors on Monday to increase spending on roads, bridges and other public works as a way to revive the economy.
Hey, it’s not like roads and bridges have any other purpose. We trust people to spend the money on things we really need: Big Macs and video games.
“There’s no short-term stimulus to the economy for some of these…
Beth’s been going to an after school science program for the last few weeks, and she’s been having a blast. We’ve had some great after school discussions about things like weather patterns and ecological systems. Cheryl had a different kind of experience this week though, when she discovered a disturbing bag of goo on the counter.
“Ugh, what’s this?” She asked.
