This is one of those posts that sounded profound and original one night at 3am… and a little less so as time passed – that, and less coherent.

People told me what to expect before, but I always humored them. I’m not stupid. I’d see this thing coming way before it happened to me. I wouldn’t be so easily fooled.
Then a few nights ago it happened…
It turns out the bees won’t be treated so humanely after all.
Back to that in a moment. First, I want to waste your time with a little narrative of this morning’s events.
The wildlife expert/beekeeper came out, took a look at the bees, said, “yep, there’s a lot of bees for ya,” and went back to his truck to don his beekeeper suit. Meanwhile I ran inside to grab my…
I came home early from work today – it was a gotta go situation. I was giving a training for a small group of volunteers doing a workshop this weekend and I was starting to lose my voice. My boss was in the group, and when I appeared in his office afterwards he simply said, “bye.”
I was at home sleeping, giving my body more energy to fight off invasion, when a familiar buzz woke…
I like crispy pig meat as much as the next guy, but after a while it gets old. After a year or two it gets really old. Truth be told, I was never really crazy for the stuff.
It turns out my office is next door to a deli that dabbles in breakfast. I don’t really have an office anymore, so corral might be a better word. But wether they’re serving breakfast or lunch, they seem to conjure…
The site that is. The Kauffman household is staying put for the moment. But that does mean…
No posts for you! For a few days anyway.
You can comment all you like on the existing posts, but I can’t promise they’ll live on at the new digs.

Maybe, if I feel really desperate for no one’s attention, I’ll post something at the old…
The Communist take-over plot thickens!
This year, Public Service Recognition Week will be held the week of May first. That’s right comrades, May Day!
Well, not exactly – it’s May 3 – 9, 2010, but when has a little thing like facts stopped The Crazy (TM) in this country?
If you’d like your “Ask me about your own secret socialist take-over club T-Shirt”…
I’m going out on a limb here, talking about work. I figure this is a strong limb though.
I’ll be discussing my latest blogging hiatus shortly. A partial post is in the hopper. Something to look forward to, eh?
My office chair was fifteen years old and saw better days. It’s upholstery was clean and intact, but almost every mechanism was either failing or broken.
“Go new…
I know staples are a staple of office life (I’ve been waiting all my life to write that phrase), but I’m a firm believer in the “one stack, one staple” concept. It’s an obsession. It raises my sense of self-righteousness to supreme being levels.
Then there’s the lazy stapler. Every office has one.
How many times has this happened to you? You’re removing a…
I’ve put a lot of miles on my shoes. If only they could talk they’d day, “put us out of our misery!”
Buying shoes isn’t something I enter into lightly. It’s a ten (or more) year commitment. I walk past shoes in the store on display, looking for the perfect shoe. I’ve never found them. It’s like trying to shop for a new best friend. How can you…
