How often does your child say something that takes a while interpret? How often is your first guess wrong, or your second?
This evening we were lounging in the family room, basking in our relative freedom from responsibility (Cheryl and Beth were out on errands), and out of nowhere Adam says, “I’ve got the blues dad.”
My first thought was, “Are they playing B.B. King at…
Beth has been hounding me for a new movie for months. Me and Adam sat in front of the iMac for a while the other day and pieced this one together real quick. I’m hesitant to post it, seeing as how I come across as a complete fool (which is my nature), but so far it’s a hit at our house with the kids, and looking like a fool has never stopped me from posting my every thought here…
Have you ever had a toilet seat break under you? I don’t mean a broken hinge or a couple screws coming loose, I mean the thick part of the seat cracking through – making two pieces where once there was one. It never happened to me before either… until this week. (Assuming of course, it hasn’t happened to you.)
It led to Cheryl’s briefing on Wednesday…
Beth’s been going to an after school science program for the last few weeks, and she’s been having a blast. Frankly, I think everyone else is a little strange for not yearning for a little more variety. At the same time, I must consider the odds. Either everyone I know is strange, or it’s me.
It don’t look too good friends.
I must admit that today was a nice day…
Yeah, I’m sure you want to read a letter I’m sending to a stranger in Vermont. Although, if you’ve been reading for a while and you’re still coming back, maybe you won’t mind so much.
I wonder if I’m overdoing the “complete stranger bit?”

Dear (concealed),
If I were you I’d be wondering who I am. I’m pretty sure you have…
There’s a Judge in this Judicial Circuit I think might be a few bricks shy of a wall (the ones on the bottom… that make it stable). I can’t tell you why due to agency policy about discussing work in public forums. It says I can’t.
But imagine my surprise when I looked at the original order of comitment for my mother (when she was shipped off to the state hospital) and saw a…
